Comfort Women | 위안부

The "Comfort Women" project delves into the painful history of Korean women subjected to harassment during Japan's colonization in the 20th century. Originating from a research paper completed in 2020 at Whitworth University, the artwork aims to honor the courage of these women in sharing their experiences with the world. While the piece acknowledges that apologies from Japan could provide some solace, it emphasizes that the deep emotional wounds remain unhealed, symbolized by spikes in the heart. The artwork seeks to raise awareness and express gratitude for the bravery of the comfort women.

I believe that I can still deliver emotions, thoughts, and meanings through my art.
